Bowman Fly Fishing.

An outfitter that ran on word-of-mouth and a phone. Beautiful trips, no infrastructure. The constraint was not demand — it was capture.

The situation

Beautiful trips and a full boat when the phone rang — but the phone was the whole system. No booking site, no capture, no follow-up. Demand was never the problem. Capture was.

The move

I built the operating stack from zero: booking and capture, a voice agent for missed calls, retention sequences, ops dashboards, and a content engine. The brand stayed the same. The wiring underneath did not exist before; then it did.

Before / after

The same brand. Different wiring.

Before — word of mouth

  • Bookings lived on the phone
  • Missed calls went to voicemail
  • No follow-up after the trip
  • No published rates, no reserve path

After — the stack

  • Booking site with a direct reserve path
  • Voice agent answers when the boat is out
  • Retention sequences bring regulars back
  • Ads pulsed in season, rates published

Principle The constraint was not demand. It was capture.
